Did you know that Cervantes was ahead of its time regarding the treatment of women in his works? He wanted them to be free, strong, powerful, and eloquent. His female characters gave us memorable speeches about the defense of freedom.
In the second half of the XVI century, there were born successively Miguel de Cervantes, María de Zayas, Lope de Vega y Tirso de Molina, and that is just the first literature line. In this journey we will approach that time, visiting the one neighborhood in Madrid that has the closest relation with that golden era: “El Barrio de las Letras”, we will put special attention on the life and works of our most famous writer, Miguel de Cervantes, discovering interesting details on the latest research about him and his outlook on female freedom.
